The 2012 Spring Recital.
They're both cute and talented!
We had a lovely afternoon of music at Edgewood Vista last Sunday. I thanked the students for their hard work and bravery to get up and perform. I thanked the parents for providing them with a chance to make music.
Here is an excellent article that busts the Myths of Learning to Play the Piano. It is particularly good for any adult who has been longing to play, but has hang-ups about what it takes.
May you have many musical moments this spring!
Go. Create. Inspire!
Journaling Prompt: Do you have someone to thank for giving you the gift of music, either in lessons, or sharing their song?

I started when I was young, I think it's easier to learn when young. Good luck.
Yvonne.
I get excited about a new journal too :)
I am a 63-year-old adult just now learning to play the piano. And it's hard, but it's something I've wanted to do since I'm 8, so it feels wonderful.

I took piano lessons growing up and now my daughter is taking them. I well remember the recitals at the end of the school year -- with fondness.
Have a great weekend, Mary.
Our son is a musician. He makes beautiful music. This picture is adorable, Mary! It does take courage. (((hugs)))
I played different instruments, when I was younger. Played clarinet in junior high band. Took guitar lessons for about a year. Had a neighbor who taught me how to play the piano. Don't play any of them anymore. : (
Mary, I hear about your "kids" all the time, and now, it was fun to see them all lined up. I interviewed a piano player today and enjoyed hearing about the piano teacher who inspired her. You are making a difference! :)
I was fortunate enough to start piano lessons from the tender age of 9 years old. Over the years, I confess that there were long spells when I didn't play as much as I should have, but you never forget the "feel" when you sit down and play after a long time...
Check out my A to Z Reflections post - I've given you a special shout out, actually 2X...

My goodness that musical book sounds so stunning!! Awwww these kids look so adorable!! I was never musical but my eldest sister is - she sings opera and plays the piano! I just sing along to karaoke and hope for the best!
Take care
